Day 1 of Class

Today my roommate Cory and I were picked up by the trainer from Jim Palmer and taken to the Truck Yard. Once there we filled out paperwork, did a DOT Drug test, and completed a DOT Physical in the morning.


Jim Palmer took us out to lunch for some great Mexican food at Taco Del Sol. After lunch we were tested on our agility.

Which consisted of:
  • Opening the hood
  • Climbing in & out of the tractor.
  • Climbing under the trailer to check the locking jaws
  • Lowering/Raising the dolly
  • Climbing in & out of the trailer
We were also shown how to hook up and unhook the trailer the proper way.

Then it was time for more paperwork and testing practice for our CDL Permit test.
