First Day Driving on the Open Road

Today was the first day with my Coach Ed. He started out the day driving from Cheyenne, Wyoming. After he drove for a bit, We stopped at Little America Truck Stop in Green River for lunch. While there, my Coach Ed had me practice all 3 types of backing for the test. Then it was my turn to drive since dispatch looked into why my drive time wasn't showing up under my hours of service.

As we headed West on I-80 towards Salt Lake City, Ed asked me to stop at a smaller truck stop so that we could practice backing again. Then Ed drove from there to the Walmart 60 miles down the road so that we could get some groceries for the truck.

Then I drove from Walmart in Evanston, Wy. After that it was my turn to drive again and I drove from their until we stopped for the night in Heyburn, Idaho. After Ed had me back in he noticed someone dumped a full skid of good watermelon. Ed couldn't pass up the free watermelon.

Tomorrow we have 400 miles until we drop our load dog food, all 45,000lbs of it at the Walmart Distribution Center in Hermiston, Oregon.
